Inno Supps Hair + Skin + Nails Review
Produced by Inno Supps, Hair + Skin + Nails is our next product for review. The supplement is produced in a facility that adheres to the cGMP guidelines and comes with a 30-day guarantee. Inno Supps believes in clean, natural nutrition, which is reflected in the ingredients in this supplement, which is marketed as a Collagen booster and contains a special blend for this purpose. However, no actual Collagen was used, nor was Hyaluronic Acid. We reviewed the ingredients and customer reviews to see if this product could be effective anyway. Keep reading to see what we found.
Is Inno Supps Hair + Skin + Nails Effective?
Inno Supps took a different approach to their supplement than our top 2 picks. Their product doesn’t provide Collagen or Hyaluronic Acid but rather provides a Collagen booster blend intended to boost Collagen levels naturally. This blend includes Inositol, Horsetail herb powder, Phyllostachys heterocycla (a type of Bamboo) extract, and Verbasnol™, which is a trademarked Rehmannia leaf extract. We appreciated that even though this is a unique blend, the manufacturer provides the exact quantity of each ingredient instead of just lumping them together. Let’s break down these ingredients one by one:
Horsetail and Phyllostachys heterocycla: The most common sources used for Silica supplements. Silica has been found to promote Collagen production, which is presumably why they are included in this blend, and it also strengthens hair and prevents breakage. We were pleased that the manufacturer included two sources of Silica, whereas certain manufacturers neglect to add this ingredient altogether.
Inositol: A type of sugar that is a major component of cell membranes. Recent reports have suggested that it may help prevent hair thinning; however, the science regarding this is inconclusive, and we did not find evidence that it helps boost Collagen production. Therefore, it is unclear why this ingredient is included in a Collagen boosting blend.
Verbasnol™: Marketed as “an advanced age-defying botanical derived from Rehmannia glutinosa” which supposedly “nourishes the skin with antioxidants.” While this may sound like everything you are looking for in a skin care supplement, and the manufacturer claims it is a proven ingredient, they didn’t provide the scientific evidence to back it up, so we cannot guarantee its efficacy.
The pattern is clear. While these ingredients sound good on the label, there is no actual proof that they work. This blend has no science or clinical studies backing it up, so we have no reason to assume it will be effective. It might work, and certain ingredients probably are beneficial – it’s just not guaranteed.
Aside from the Collagen boosting blend, the formula includes several vitamins and minerals. These include 100 mg of Vitamin C, which is a pre-collagen vitamin and an antioxidant that provides powerful protection to the skin. It also contains several B Vitamins, including Biotin and Folate, which, as we mentioned previously, are important for the production of Keratin and improving blood flow to hair, skin, and nails. We do wish that more Biotin had been included – there is 100 mcg of Biotin per serving, which is less than what we typically look for and also significantly less than the amounts included in our top two products.
The final two ingredients are Zinc and Chromium. Zinc assists in the production of Collagen, and a deficiency can also lead to hair loss. Chromium has been used to prevent skin aging by regulating blood sugar, however, evidence for this benefit is inconclusive.
While this product has certain beneficial ingredients, some key nutrients were missing for us. First of all, even though we like the idea of a Collagen boosting blend, we weren’t sold on the ingredients in the blend. We prefer the direct method of supplying Collagen peptides in addition to ingredients that naturally boost its production. We would have also liked to see Hyaluronic Acid included in the formula, as it works hand in hand with Collagen to nourish the skin and give it a smoother, more youthful appearance. We also wished that Vitamins A and E were included, as they work synergistically with Vitamin C to protect the skin from harmful toxins, pollution and UV radiation. We were also surprised that Iron wasn’t included, as it helps prevent hair from becoming dull, thin and dry and it also strengthens brittle nails.
Finally, we wanted to see the use of an enhancer such as BioPerine® which increases nutrient absorption to maximize benefits. This could have made up for some of the potential problems with this product, such as the insufficient quantity of Biotin.
Is Inno Supps Hair + Skin + Nails Safe?
There are no mentioned side effects of taking this product. As with any new supplement or diet introduced into your daily life, we always advise talking to your healthcare professional about possible contraindications of any pre-existing medical conditions or medications that you are taking. Supplements work differently for everyone and the effects vary between individuals so it is always a good idea to run any health changes by a professional.
Summary
This product contains some good ingredients, such as Vitamin C, Biotin and Folate. However, we didn’t find the Collagen boosting blend particularly impressive, and would have preferred actual Collagen to be utilized for helping the skin, as well as Hyaluronic Acid. Iron and Vitamins A and E were also missing, and more Biotin should have been included as it is a key ingredient for hair, skin and nails. Finally, we really wanted to see a thermogenic enhancer such as BioPerine® included here, as it could have seriously helped to boost the results experienced by consumers. All in all, this is a decent product, and it has a 30-day money-back guarantee to back it up in case you don’t like the results.
